Te Amo? No, Tequila Recipe (Featuring Strawberry Sunset)

New Year, New Recipes!

(Strawberry Sunset)

Te Amo? No, Tequila

In 2022 our love language is Tequila. That's why the Te Amo? No, Tequila is a personal favorite of mine. We're stepping away from the margaritas and on to something stronger and a bit more dangerous than falling in love.

A New Year, calls for New Recipes and this recipe lives in my mind rent-free. The Te Amo? No, Tequila is a bubbly new twist on a strawberry basil martini minus the vodka and double the Tequila. Now you know what I mean when I say DANGEROUS, but this cocktail is sure to pass the vibe check with your amigos.

You had me at Martini, let's get shaking!

Here's What You Need To Get The Show Started

  • Strawberry Sunset CHIDO
  • 2oz Tequila
  • 1oz Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1oz of Agave
  • 3 Basil Leaves
  • 2 Strawberries
  • Sugar

  • Cocktail Shaker
  • Cocktail Strainer
  • Citrus Juicer
  • Muddler
  • Martini Glasses

How to Make the Te Amo? No, Tequila

Making the Te Amo? No, Tequila is as easy as ghosting the guy who was buying you drinks all last night. Plus, it's a guaranteed to leave you smiling and satisfied after every sip. Just follow these simple steps, we'll make sure you finish... the recipe.

For the Te Amo? No, Tequila we're going for a sweet sugar rim... gasp! Don't worry this cocktail is the only exception for a sugar rim. Cut a wedge off of your lemon and run it across the rim of your martini glass. Then slowly dunk the glass onto a small plate filled with sugar until the rim is fully coated. Set aside for later.

Next, we're going to put 2 strawberries and 3 basil leaves into our muddler. Begin to smash them down into a pulp the best that you can.
Don't worry if you have giant chunks of strawberry, the strainer will catch this out later. For now set the mixture aside, we still have a couple more ingredients to prepare.
This martini also requires 1oz of fresh squeezed lemon juice, which is about half of a lemon. If you don't have a citrus juicer you can always stick a muddler in the center of the lemon and squeeze it around until all the juice comes out. Pour the lemon juice into your shaker.
To avoid the Te Amo? No, Tequila from getting watered down like my last relationship, we're not going to put the in until ice after we get these two ingredients ready.
Now that everything is ready, add ice to your shaker and get them loaded. Combine 2oz of tequila, muddled strawberrys and basil, 1oz of fresh lemon juice, and 1oz of agave. Shake it, until you make it baby.
After you give it a good shake, pour into your sugar rimmed martini glass and admire her beauty. No ice, it's a martini you simp.
Let us put you on, the only thing better than a martini, is a CHIDO martini. We topped off the Te Amo? No, Tequila with the one and only Strawberry Sunset CHIDO.
Top her off with a strawberry and you have a jaw dropping Te Amo? No, Tequila that isn't your typical pick me girl. I mean seriously name a better martini recipe, I'll wait.
The Te Amo, No, Tequila is not for everybody. However, if you love good vibes, tequila, and chasin' sunsets it just might be for you. This martini is a dangerous combination that you might have to blame some of those late night texts on. As we mentioned earlier... 2022 is the year we're making tequila our love language. Say it louder for the people in the back and send this recipe to your friend who needs to hear this. This year, the only thing I'm chasing is tequila... with a CHIDO of course. We're even mixing the two into some crazy recipes for you to try, and don't worry we have plenty more to come.
